What if start-ups didn’t have to become unicorns? What if when we start companies, from the beginning we could start them with the intention to stay at a certain scale and not scale up after that point. And what if we accepted the fact that not every company will be successful forever, and we would get-go with a deadline in mind?
And knowing these, we would still create them for other purposes: E.g. learning about something, serving some people for a certain period of time, paving the way for something else…
Wouldn’t it remove some of the pressure that comes with entrepreneurship? And maybe help dethrone the embedded greed ingredient out of entrepreneurship somehow?
Everything in nature is born with death as part of the game, why do we assume companies are here to stay forever?
